2023: Be professional in reporting politics —APC’s Tola Awosika tells Ondo journalists

As the 2023 general election gathers momentum, Dr. Tola Awosika, a Senatorial Aspirant on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to represent the people of Ondo Central at the red chamber, has called on journalists in Ondo state to be thoroughly professional and objective in the discharge of their duties especially in reporting electoral activities.

Dr. Awosika, gave this charge on Tuesday in Ondo City while receiving the new Executive members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) – led by the Chairman, Prince Leke Adegbite, who paid him familiarisation Visit.

The Business Mogul advised media professionals to resist any temptation of serving parochial interests in their official assignments before, during and after the elections.

According to Awosika, the new NUJ leadership must be proactive in ensuring that members sanitize and should not join in sharing fake news on the social media platforms.

Speaking on his quest to run for the Ondo Central senatorial seat, Awokisa said he intend to make meaningful impacts in empowering youths of his senatorial district.

Awosika also said that he is passionate about healthcare and to ensure women get the best of healthcare in the state saying, “for the sake of generality, I have much concern for my people.”

While expressing delight that young man emerged the new NUJ Chairman, he congratulated the new leadership of the Union in the State, urging members to rally round them to achieve success.

Speaking earlier, the new Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ondo state Council, Prince Leke Adegbite, had expressed happiness that young personalities like Dr Awosika are joining politics to inject fresh ideas into the nation’s leadership style.
