As realignment starts towards the 2023 political permutations, The Convener of IBI GIGA AMBASSADORS and MD/CEO of KLICK KONNECT NETWORK INTERNATIONAL, Chief Dr Alex Ajipe has said that he is more concern about his business Future than contesting for any position in 2023 general election.
Ajipe said this while responding to questions on the 2023 general election and whether he would join the race to contest for the Ondo North Senatorial seat saying, “I am not in the race for now. I think of my business future than politics”
Ajipe said he was grateful and happy to be part of success story of Governor of Ondo State Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu to reposition the state through industrialisation which had yied results
The Akoko Vanguard led by Alhaji Kazeem Alebiosu had earlier visited Ajipe in his office to persuade him to contest for the Ondo North senatorial seat in the coming general election in 2023.
The leader of the group, Alhaji Kazeem Alebiosu said Ajipe will be a very good candidate if he contests due to his generosity and closeness to people and what he has achieved so far in the state.
Alhaja Kazeem said Ondo North senatorial district at this present time needs very dynamic, forward looking, and experienced Youth like Ajipe because the area has not been represented well at the National Assembly and currently at a crossroads but after they looked and searched and it was discovered that Ajipe towers above every other politician in the whole six local government of Ondo North senatorial district to offer the right leadership to the people at this present time.
“We believe that You are fantastic product that we can market and sell, and that other Akokos will embrace what we have seen, and also join the mass movement to support and ensure your victory at the poll. We need youth like you and we believe you can deliver and make Ondo North senatorial district a synosure of all eyes. Alhaji Kazeem said
Responding, Chief Ajipe appreciated the group for compelling him to contest but saying 2023 is still far and he prefer to focus more on his business than going into full politics for now
According to him, he has been receiving supports from different group calling him to run for a political post in 2023 general election but he has not given them answer because he believes 2023 is still far and what is paramount to him now is the future of his business.
Ajipe was quoted saying “my interest for now is to grow my business beyond the shore of ondo state. I think more of my business future than politics for now.
“I want to invest more In Agriculture and bring more investors to this country. We are currently having some discussion with other state in Nigeria including the Federal Government to bring more investors to this country.
“My main target now is to grow this company and having branches across this country and Europe. There are lots of opportunities and potentials in ondo state that is able to keep any investor or business man busy.
I will therefore be busy with my business for now while leave politics for the politicians .
“In then last 5 years, we have helped Ondo and Kano state governments to create over 20,000 jobs, especially through foreign direct investment and entrepreneurship thereby Increasing the revenue of states and helped to bring a lot of institutions and individuals into the tax net of Nigeria as confirmed by Federal Inland Revenue Service and States’ boards of internal revenue”
“We also facilitated the establishment of Wewood Limited which specialize in the production of HDF,MDF,LDF, Ply wood, Ethanol and Agro chemical, we facilitated the establishment of winwin textile, a first of its kind in the southern part of Nigeria and Africa’s first automobile assembly plant of Dong Feng motors all located at Ore Industrial Hub”
“Before the advent of this present administration in 2016, there was no public industry in Ondo state that was functioning like OluwaGlass, Ifon Ceramic, Ile-Oluji Cocoa plantation have all disappeared because of mismanagement and loss of focus which make the state fritter away its industrialisation opportunity and tag as civil servant state.
“As at last count, we have over $350million of foreign direct investment that has been imported into this state, apart from the one converted to structure and has confirmed by the Ministry of Trade and Investment. So we want to do more, we want to bring more investors to this state and grow our business beyond the shore of this country”.
“To me, It is not only when you join politics than you can assist your people. I have been doing this for long and I will still continue to do it. We have empowered a lot of people in various ways to lift them out of poverty”
“Currently, Klick Konnect networks has brought over 500 million of dollars investment into ondo state with over 300 staff strength. We plan to do more, to employ more through our agricultural revolution”
“I have not told anybody that I have Senatorial ambition. These are speculations in the newspapers. It is true that I am a politician and have also registered as a member of APC because I have decided to give back to people and I have decided to contribute in any way possible to help develop a strong, political party that can be impactful, whether in the local level or in the state level, or at the national level,”
I belief there is time for everything. This is time for business, and when time of politics come, we will participate. I know I’m not God. I know that there is nothing that God cannot do. So, I leave what God can do to God. I want to contribute to bring positive changes to our politics and I can do it from my own little corner here.” He said
Ajipe therefore, called on all lovers of Ondo state to join hands with Governor Akeredolu in his determination to turn the state around and deliver dividends of democracy to the people.
He said the Akeredolu administration was also transforming Ondo state into a smart government with policies and programmes that are more of benefits to the people.
“Governor Akeredolu is doing wonderfully well in Ondo state so we need to support him to achieve great success. The governor is the leader of the party, and we believe in his leadership, so where ever he goes,we follow. Ajipe said
