Ondo state Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has commended Dr Jibayo Adeyeye and his wife, Prof Olufunke Adeyeye for their massive investments in various sectors of the economy in the state.
Akeredolu explained that their massive investments in the Sunshine State will greatly improve the lives of the people by creating jobs, stimulating local businesses around and promoting tourism while also generating taxes for the state government.
The Governor who spoke at the official commissioning of NIBANOLA Motherland, a World class Resort center situated at KM 7, Ondo-Ore Express way, Igbado, Ondo, equally added that the new sources of income in the world today are tourism and agriculture. Akeredolu also commissioned Nibby Water factory in the same location.
He particularly called on other illustrious sons and daughters of the state to take a cue from the founders of the project to come home and invest in the Sunshine State.
The event was attended by several dignitaries including members of the Ondo State Executive Council, members of the House of Assembly, serving and former members of the National Assembly, Vice Chancellor of University of Medical Sciences, Ondo, Professor Olusegun Fatusi, local government chairmen, traditional rulers, religious leaders among others.
NIBANOLA MOTHERLAND is in three sections: the Farm, the Resort and the Golf View Estate, which is a private Residential area of the facility.
The Governor praised the owners of the investments, Dr Jibayo Adeyeye and his wife, Prof Olufunke Adeyeye for their patriotism, stressing that if properly utilized, tourism and agriculture would provide significant wealth for the State and the Country at large.
“This indeed is World class.The conception and birthing this project which is clearly a promotion of tourism are very apt as the current state of the economy in Nigeria and the World at large has necessitated the need to look beyond oil. Therefore the new sources of income are tourism and agriculture”, the Governor stressed.
Akeredolu noted that his administration will continue to sustain ongoing private sector-driven economy by providing enabling environment for investors to thrive.
Earlier in his welcome speech, the Founder, Dr. Jibayo Adeyeye went down memory lane on how what is today one of the best resort in Nigeria, NIBANOLA Motherland came about.
According to him, their mission is to create a knowledge based environment in Agriculture, tourism and hospitality, while their vision is to be the world’s foremost Agro tourism resort.
Dr Adeyeye explained that apart from having government approved Mater Plan, the entire property sitting on about 500 hectares of land has Certificate of Occupancy.
“NIBANOLA Motherland, this is a vision and mission conceived by my wife and I, and we have worked at it in the last three years. We started by establishing the farm about six and a half years ago. In the farm we have a poultry, and the poultry has over 60, 000 layers presently and we produce well over 1200, 000 crates of eggs everyday. We also have a Piggery there, we have the Cattle Ranch, we have the Palm Tree Plantation, we have a Cocoa Plantation, we have a Plantain Plantation, and we have a Kola nut plantation on the farm.
“The Resort was only conceived only about three years ago. About two and half years ago, where we have presently gathered was a very thick forest. But we realized the topography of the area. The natural resources present here can be harnessed together as a major tourism potential for Ondo Kingdom, so we started. The mountain that is binding us to the Northeast of the farm, we have constructed 580 steps to the top of that mountain. So, you don’t need to go to Idanre hills to go and climb mountain.
“We also started with a 9-hole Golf Course but we have since expounded it to a straight 18-hole standard international Golf Course. We constructed six artificial dams here and we have earmarked one of the dams for water sports and other activities.
“We have the NIBANOLA House with sports shop, fitness center with standard Gym, we have the Lake View Lounge, we have 12 Suites in the NIBANOLA House . We also have an amusement park, we have standard Lawn tennis court, basketball court, swimming pool arcade. Going on, we have a 64-room hotel under construction and a Kola nut farm very close to it. The latest addition to this Motherland is Nibby Water, Nibby Water is produced here, the factory is here. The bottle is made here, and I can assure you that we use the best technology anywhere in the world.
“The last phase of this project is the Golf View Estate. The Golf View Estate is an individual residential estate for people that will like to live in a resort. And we will target a lot of people in the Diaspora”, Dr. Adeyeye stressed.
According to him, the project which is multi-purpose is expected to boost the tourism sector and provide employment opportunities for hundreds of people.
The Osemawe of Ondo kingdom, Oba Victor Kiladejo lauded the efforts of the founders for the vision which will enhance food security and promote tourism in Ondo kingdom.
“It is a one-stop facility that will generate a lot of employment opportunities to teaming unemployed youths in the city. On behalf of all Ondo people, I want to say that I am so proud of you Dr Jibayo Adeyeye for being a good son of the kingdom”, Oba Osemawe said.
Other speakers including the former Speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly, Adeyemi Ikuforiji, House of Representatives member representing Ondo East/West Federal Constituency, Abiola Makinde, former House of Representatives member, Joseph Akinlaja and others lauded the vision and initiative of Dr Jibayo Adeyeye and his wife, describing it as monumental.
The well attended event also witnessed presentation of prizes for Lopa n tete-150 pm.
