DIOCESE OF AKOKO HONOURS AKOGUN ADETOKUNBO MODUPE.
The Diocese of Akoko Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) on Sunday, 7th of August 2022 bestowed an award of excellence on Akogun Adetokunbo Modupe, the candidate of People’s Democratic Party, PDP for the Ondo North Senatorial District in the approaching 2023 general elections.
In his message at the ceremony held at the Cathedral Church of St. Stephen, Ikare Akoko, the Lord Bishop of Akoko Diocese, Rt. Rev’d J.O.B Bada JP said the award was a recognition of Akogun Modupe’s service to humanity. Bishop Bada said that the Diocese came to the conclusion to honour Akogun Modupe because of his impressive resume and selflessness.
In his response, an elated Akogun said he was astonished when he was informed of the award by the Diocese of Akoko Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion and sees it as a call to continue to extend the little God has given him to contribute to the development of the society. He therefore thank the Diocese for finding worthy of the recognition, and promised to be a good ambassador of the church.
Akogun was accompanied to the ceremony by party stalwarts and political associates including Dr Bobby Omotosho, Senatorial Chairman of PDP, Hon Tunji Dairo, Chief Mike Adara, Hon Ilepe Johnson, Senatorial Woman Leader, Mrs Tolani Hassan, Hon Bode Obanla amongst several other.
