Hundreds of supporters of Hon. Bunmi Tunji-Ojo, a member representing Akoko Northeast/Northwest Federal Constituency in Ondo State, on Thursday, held a special prayer session for the reelection bid of the federal lawmaker.
The prayer programme with the theme, “Greater Glory with BTO” had spiritual men of God, constituents and political associates in attendance who converged on St. Gregory Mega school in Ikare, Headquarters of Akoko Northeast Local Government Area of the State.
Speaking at the ecclesiastical gathering, the Akoko North East Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Rev. Fr. Ogunyakin Francis, said Tunji-Ojo had creditably performed well, saying the philanthropic gestures of the lawmaker are congenial to nation building.
The Cleric who confidently stated that though politicians in the country were aversed to constructive criticism, inoculated them with the idea that individual could make a difference in the densely populated society.
He said, “BTO has done well, though I have not seen him before, but I have been able to sight some of his projects”
“The gathering is about those who believe in God, knowing-fully-well of what we have seen in the last four years, because God can do more in the lives of His people”
“A lot of things are happening in the country where our politicians don’t even do the needful. The position of a leader is a position of service and my coming here is a testimony of what prayer can do for his people”, Fr. Ogunyakin said.
Earlier, in his welcome address, one of the organizers of the programme, Pastor Olumide Obadele, said the sole purpose of the gathering was to offer prayer for Bunmi Tunji-Ojo in order to continue his quality representation.
Obadele, who is also the Convener of ‘One Million Man March for BTO‘, asked the confederates of the lawmaker to continually support him with earnest prayers.
In her testimony, Hon. Atinuke Akadri, noted that similar programme was observed prior to the 2019 election which rode BTO to stardom, adding that history must repeat it for the essence of continuity of good work in the federal constituency.
Some other men of God at the prayer session, also prayed for the success of the lawmaker in his future endeavours.
