A businessman and lawyer, Mr Adu Olumuyiwa has emerged the candidate for the People’s Democratic Party PDP ahead of the forthcoming House of Representative bye-election for the vacant Akure north/south federal constituency seat slated for the 26th February 2022.
Mr Adu Olumuyiwa won the election with 98 votes to defeat other four aspirants.
The seat occupied by PDP in Ondo state became vacant following the demise of Mr Adedayo Omolafe Isaac last year.
Two hundred and forty delegates from two local government which are Akure north and south participated in the election which was supervised by staffs of the independent national electoral commission INEC.
Reacting, Chairman of PDP in Ondo state Mr Fatai Adams called on all aspirants not to see themselves as rivals but as winners and work together as a team to reclaim the seat at the green chamber.
Hon Fatai Adams commended the peaceful display of delegates during the primary.
Some of the notable delegates present at the election included former deputy governor of Ondo state chief Omolade Oluwateru and Mr Eyitayo Jegede,a PDP governorship candidate in the last governorship election in Ondo state.
