Ex-ACPN President, Pharmacist Samuel Adekola bags National Icon Award

The immediate past National Chairman of the Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria, ACPN, Pharmacist Samuel Adekola has added another honour to his long list of his national awards, as he has been conferred with an award of Integrity Icon of Nigeria (I.I.O.N).

This is contained in a “letter of Authority to Bear Our Honorific Title of I.I.O.N” signed by Ethicist (Prince) Salih Musa Yakubu, the Executive Director, Centre for Ethics and Self Values Orientation, and addressed to Pharmacist Adekola.

According to the letter, the award takes effect from 11th October, 2021.

“LETTER OF AUTHORITY TO BEAR OUR HONORIFIC TITTLE OF (I.I.O.N) (Integrity Icon of Nigeria) with effect from this day 11/10/2021.

“Having conferred an award of Integrity Icon of Nigeria on you with issuance of Ethical leadership/conduct Compliance award certificate with your enlistment amongst the top 10 highly rated most ethically responsible chairmen of National Union bodies in Nigeria 2021.

“The 2nd Overall in the country, the Board of Trustees and management of the centre do hereby grant you an authority to henceforth add to your name our Honorific award title indicated above and at no cost for you

“This is in recognition of your commitment to community service, labour unionism, integrity, national interest, due process compliance, transparent and accountable leadership, innovativeness and emotional intelligence, members interest/welfare, quality assurance in policy implementation and commitment to the profession in Nigeria.

“Your passionate resolved to work for a new Nation anchored on integrity, value leadership and ethical uprightness is highly commendable after our secret Independent assessment exercise conducted without your consent

“Your ethical leadership role in labour sector earned you this most cherished honorific title exclusively reserved for the incorruptible global citizens of which you were discovered to be one We enjoined you to always make integrity your watch word and join us in our collective quest to rid Nigeria of corruption and mis-governance at all levels,” said Ethicist Musa Yakubu.
