Fleeing Bandits: Ondo Amotekun intercepts Truck loaded with Northerners

Following an apprehension that bandits are fleeing from the northern part of the country as a result of military onslaught in Zamfara state,
Operatives of the Amotekun Corps in Ondo State yesterday intercepted a truck loaded with travellers from Northern extraction.

SUNSHINETRUTH gathered that the truck was loaded with over 60 passengers made of women, youths and children.

The passengers claimed to be from Kano and insisted they were returning home from Lagos before they were intercepted at Iju in Akure North local government area of the state.

It was learnt that they might have been rejected from settling down in some states of the southwest and they are still searching for where to settle.

Report says they were thoroughly checked by Amotekun men before they were released and they headed for Ekiti axis to Kano.

Confirming the story, the Amotekun commander in Ondo state, Chief Adetunji Adeleye said the command is trying to check the influx of criminals into the state.

He said , “My men intercepted some travellers and they made sure that they were thoroughly checked before they were allowed to proceed on their journey”
