A former Speaker of the Ondo state House of Assembly and ex-School Principal, Rt Hon Victor Olabimtan has urged 25,736 Students who are the direct beneficiaries of recent payment of WEAC fees by Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu to reciprocate the gesture by reading well to pass the examinations in order make their parents, and the State Government proud.

A Statement personally signed by the former TESCOM Chairman and a copy obtained by SUNSHINETRUTH in Akure on Wednesday, indicates that coming out in flying colour remains the best way to justify the huge government’s investment.

Olabimtan charges Ondo Students “I received with nostalgia the news of the payment of #360m WAEC fees for all the students in the public secondary schools in Ondo State by the Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu SAN. This is highly commendable.

“This further underscored the importance Mr Governor attached to qualitative education which Ondo State is known for.

“I congratulate the students and their parents. The parents in particular are relieved of financial burdens that would have emanated from paying the WAEC fees of their children by themselves.

“I urge the 25,736 Students who are the direct beneficiaries to reciprocate the gesture by facing their study, read well for the Examinations and make their parents, and the State Government proud.

“I appreciate Mr. Governor for being so magnanimous enough to consider the payment, despite the present economic challenges.

“The Governor took the welfare of the Students as priority. It is also worthy of commendation that the exercise was devoid of political coloration.

“This is another promise kept by Arakunrin. I enjoin Ondo people to keep supporting his various programmes that will further bring more development to our dear State.

“Indeed, things are looking up in Ondo State and can only get better,” the Former Speaker said.
