Ondo Amotekun launches 5yrs Security Roadmap

The Commander of Ondo State Security Network codenamed “Amotekun Corps”, Chief Adetunji Adeleye on Tuesday declared that a 5years Roadmap Document to boost the security of the state has been launched; SUNSHINETRUTH can report.

The Commander announced this in Akure today at the Commissioning of Administrative Headquarters and The Passing Out Ceremony for The 2nd Batch Of Amotekun Corps held at The Gani Fawehinmi Arcade Ground, Alagbaka Akure.

According to Adeleye, the security roadmap encapsulates the policy direction, strategies as well as our governance structure for the implementation of the ideals contained therein.

The Amotekun boss said, “It gives me greater pleasure because it is coming at a time when everyone has become more conscious of the happenings around them and are more ready to provide the needed support particularly in the area of credible information.

“Mr. Governor, distinguished ladies and gentlemen, the order of programme for this segment will feature a documentary and drama on Amotekun Corps, unveiling of our Roadmap Document as well as the commissioning of our Administrative Headquarters and Control Centre.

“The projects to be commissioned are significant to our operations as they provide our staff the needed ambience to strategize while the Control Centre helps to keep track of happenings around the State particularly at flashpoints in order to respond promptly and decisively.

“The Roadmap Document is our flagship guide giving an overview of how we intent to achieve the 6th Goal of the REDEEMED agenda between now and 2025. It encapsulates our policy direction, strategies as well as our governance structure for the implementation of the ideals contained therein.

“At this juncture, may I seize this medium to inform Mr. Governor that it has become necessary to consider the allocation of a sizeable parcel of land as permanent site for the Corps. This would no doubt be a relief to residents of this area who have had to cope with the hazards of our job.

“Let me seize this medium to thank our traditional rulers for their cooperation so far as well as Chairmen of local governments for assisting with office accommodation and other logistics which has greatly enhanced our operations.

“I want to enjoin you all to continue to provide us the necessary information so that our collective effort toward a zero tolerance to crime would be achieved in record time.”

“I must specially express our gratitude to Mr. Governor for his unflinching support towards making today’s event a reality.

“Let me seize this singular opportunity to thank Mr. Governor, who in his wisdom, entrusted the leadership of this security outfit into our hands.

“It is my prayer that the trust and beautiful relationship will not be misplaced or destroyed. I also wish to thank the Heads of security agencies for the synergy and brotherly working relationship in our bid to ensure the safety of lives and property across the Sunshine State.

“I also wish to specially appreciate the unflinching support and solidarity given by the Council of Amotekun Commanders, who recently elected my humble self as the Chairman of the Council of Amotekun Commanders. I look up to your sustained cooperation in making the Southwest geopolitical zone the safest and most secured zone in the country.

“This event, being part of the commemoration of the 100 Days in Office of the APC Administration ably led by our indefatigable, pragmatic and fearless leader, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN is to celebrate our modest efforts in the fight against all forms of lawlessness and criminality in the State. Specifically, we are here for the following:
(a)Passing out parade
(b)Commissioning of Crime Fighting Equipment/Vehicles

“The importance of today’s event underscores the need to ensure that those responsible for keeping us safe have a conducive atmosphere to strategize and carry out other non-field but related tasks. I want to sincerely appreciate Mr. Governor for the commitment in making this edifice a reality despite the financial situation in the State.

“I also want to express our deepest gratitude to Government for the additional 20 vehicles donated to the Agency to enhance our operation capacity.

“We seize this medium to encourage well-meaning individuals and corporate bodies within and outside the country to render every assistance possible to enable us keep our communities and borders safe and attractive to foreign investors.

“Ladies and Gentlemen, I thank you all once again for coming and it is my singular pleasure and honour to invite our own Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, the Governor of Ondo State to proceed with the commissioning,” Adeleye said.
