Ondo Amotekun nabs Herdsmen, 56 cows in Ikare, as herders beg for out of court settlement

The Ondo State Security Agency Network codenamed Amotekun Corps on thursday apprehended three Fulani herdsmen and 56 cows for violating the Anti-grazing Law at Awara Community, a farm settlement in Ikare Akoko area of the state; SUNSHINETRUTH can report.

The suspects were arrested at Awara Community in Ikare Akoko, headquarters of Akoko North East of Ondo State for destroying farm land.

Speaking at the agency’s Headquarters in Akure, the State Commander of Amotekun Corps, Chief Adetunji Adeleye said it would not be business as usual since the enforcement of Anti-grazing Law in Ondo State had commenced.

He warned that herders’ leaders should educate their people to stop farm destruction with their own cows business.

It was also gathered that the culprits were mandated to pay the stipulated fine stated in the Anti-grazing Law.

The Seriki Hausa, Akungba Akoko, Alhaji Idris Jumil Ismaila, thanked the Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State and the Amotekun corps for allowing them to settle out of court and promised to sensitise his people on the implications of violating the Anti-grazing Law.
