National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives (NANNM), Ondo State Council.
The leadership of NANNM Ondo State Council on the spot assessment at St Francis Catholic Church Owa-luwa Street, Owo, Ondo State due to the unprovoked and barbaric attack on the church.
The act is highly condemnable in its entirety.
It’s very sadden that many lives were cut short with dozen of people injured in the attack involving one of our members (Nurse). The nurse who is a member of the church, was said to have lost her two legs in the incident.
The association enjoined colleagues within the kingdom to render their selfless service and those that had been engaged to please continue. The burden of the task now is overwhelming regarding the shortage of required manpower. It was a dark Sunday, the association described.
The leadership of the association commensurate with the Governor of Ondo State, Arakurin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, the imperial majesty Olowo of Owo kingdom, the Bishop of Catholic, Diocese of ondo: Bishop Jude, Arogundade, the priest and parishioners of St Francis Catholic Church Owa-luwa, Owo. The people of Owo kingdom, the traumatized families of the victims.
We can’t, but commend the leadership of the following instructions for the care rendered, FMC Owo, St Louis hospital Owo, General Hospital Owo, and other private institutions. All medical and health professionals, the entire nursing community in which we are part of the victims.
The association strongly appeal to general public to donate blood for the victims who need emergency blood transfusion. We also need the prayers of all to have the strength to weather the storm.
The leadership of NANNM Ondo state commend the effort of Ondo state government to ensuring security of lives and prosperities which need to be supported by all citizens/residents of Ondo state
