Panic as unknown persons machete Farmer to death in Ondo farm

There is currently tension and panic in Ajowa Akoko, Akoko Northwest local government area of Ondo state as the lifeless body of a man was discovered in a farm.

SUNSHINETRUTH gathered that the lifeless body of the farmer was found by policemen at the forest near the Ajowo farm settlement on Monday.

Police investigation showed that a cow was also seen wounded at the scene of the incident, a situation that indicates that it was a case of a confrontation between the deceased farmer and unknown herder whose cow was also injured at the farm.

The Divisional Police Officer, DPO for Okeagbe Akoko, Supretendent of police, SP Unnah Paulinus confirmed that the corpse of the matcheted farmer was found from a distance forest in Ajowa area and had already been deposited at a government’s hospital in Ikare Akoko while investigations would continue to unravel those who perpetrated the evil act.

Meanwhile, traditional rulers in Akoko northwest local government area have called on people to respect the law forbidden open grazing in ondo state in order to ensure lasting peace in communities.

The chairman of the traditional council and Akala of Ikaram-Akoko, Oba Andrew Momodu advocated the need for all towns and villages in the area to organise local vigilante group and local hunters that would compliment efforts of the available regular security agents.

The monarchs view the shortage of manpower among security agencies as a serious problem which the federal government must address urgently.
