Salary, Leave Bonus: Labour, Ondo Govt reach agreement

SALARY PAYMENT: THE FINAL UPDATE.

Organised Labour and Government side ably led by the Head of Service met again for the third consecutive time this morning (6/8/2021) at the Cocoa Conference Hall, Governor’s office.

After an exhaustive deliberations on the offer of government based on FAAC receipts (see our earlier update), organised Labour and government agreed on the following as payables to the workers in the state Public Service. Viz;

1. 40% balance of February salary to;
^TESCOM
^CORE CIVIL
^PENSION
^UNIMEDTH
^SUBVENTION
2. Payment of March 2021 salary to;
^OSOPADEC
^JUDICIARY
^OWENA PRESS LTD
3. Payment to Ad-hoc Staff of;
^HMB
^AGRIC
^SPORTS COUNCIL.
4. Payment of 2019 Leave Bonus to officers on salary grade levels 7 and 8 in TESCOM AND CORE CIVIL only.

It is important to note that, the meeting also agreed to a regular monthly payment of Leave Bonus by setting aside the sum of 100m for the purpose.

(LAST FRIDAY’S) SALARY MATTERS AFFECTING: UPDATE ON PAYMENT

Organised Labour met with the Ondo State government representatives led by the Head of Service at a meeting held inside the Cocoa Conference Hall of the Governor’s office today 2nd June, 2021.

At the meeting, government presented before labour a proposal of 40percent being the balance of payment for February, 2021 as what is payable for now. You will recall that, workers in the public service of the state received 60% for the month of February, 2021 except for their counterparts in the LGSC and SUBEB.

Government receipts ACCORDING to the ACCOUNTANT GENERAL for the month of May 2021 was 2.9bn after the deduction of government obligation.

Going forward, Organised Labour REJECTED the proposal and sought a break from the meeting to consult with its members for briefing and with a view to taking concrete decision.
