Triplets birthed free of charge by CS, named after Dr Wilson Ikubese

….pledges N30,000 monthly stipend for the triplets

As a sign of appreciation, Mr. Ogana Sunday and his wife, a young couple resident in Akure, the Ondo state capital, who birthed a set of triplets three weeks ago, have named the children after Doctor Thomas-Wilson Ikubese, the Chief Medical Director of Sckyé Hospitals, Akure.

They spoke with newsmen on the reason behind the compound names give to the baby boys.

SUNSHINETRUTH had reported the triplets delivered through a ceaseran sections free of charge by Dr Ikubese on Saturday the 30th of October 2021, were named John-Wilson, James-Wilson and Joseph-Wilson during their recent naming ceremony.

According to their father, Mr. Sunday Ogana, the babies are so named, to show appreciation to Doctor Thomas-Wilson Ikubese, the Chief Medical Director of Sckyé Hospitals, for his tremendous support before, during and after their birth.

Sunday Ogana, a native of Ogoja in Cross River state, who teaches in a private school for a living, after reading geography and obtaining a Bachelor of science certificate from Adeyemi College of Education over fourteen years ago, said he would have probably been tempted to think about how to abandon his wife and new babies, because of financial incapacitation, but for the help and support of Dr. Ikubese.

Sunday Ogana, while speaking with Nigerian Cable news online on Sunday, said Ikubese did not only take delivery of the Babies for free, but that he also bought the first baby food that they ate throughout their stay in the Hospital for them.

Ogana, who is full of appreciation to Ikubese, said words can not be enough to thank him for his good gesture, while describing him as a blessing to humanity.

He said: “Words can not be enough to appreciate Dr. Wilson for being our helper, and there is nothing to said than to say that we owe him our life appreciation. he gave me an assurance of live, and that is why you can hear me talking today. if not for his help, maybe I will have ran away by now. in summary, he is a blessing to Humanity.”

While reaction to the development, Dr. Ikubese, a former Presidential aspirant and renowned Philanthropist, said he acted in accordance to the Policy of the Hospital.

He however called upon well meaning Nigerians to come to the aide of the couple and their new children, through financial support.

“In line with our hospital policy, ceaserean sections for higher order multiple gestations (three babies and above), is free. So, the family didn’t have to pay for the surgery, accomodation, incubation care, oxygen, take-home triplet baby cot (we buy new triplet’s cot for every new set of triplets) and baby food.” he said.

“However, we humbly appeal to members of the public for additional assistance for this family, as the father of the triplets is a teacher, while their mother is an artisan, with a previous set of twins.”
