In accordance with the REDEEMED AGENDA of Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu, the Ondo State Commissioner for Commerce, Industry and Cooperative Services on Monday inspected the newly resuscitated Ondo State Cooperative College in Akure.

The college which serves as the research and training arm of the Ministry was established in 1978 but the College was shut down in 2015 by the last administration and buildings were allocated to Pension Commission before it was resuscitated by the present administration of Arakunrin Akeredolu and relocated to the present site.

The Commissioner was welcomed to the school by the management staff. The Director of Cooperative Services in the Ministry, Mr. Williams thanked the Commissioner for making sure the college start working again.

He reiterated the commitment of the college at streamlining Cooperative activities in the state for effective performance and sustainability of its operations.

Hon. Fagbemi thanked the management for this initiative to begin with a special three months course before the proper commencement of academic session. In her short speech of encouragement to the students “Cooperative sector is very important sub-sector of our economy, the government depends on you for effective coordination of Cooperative activities in the state”.

The Commissioner said that “if we get it right as people, the roles being played by Cooperative Services is enormous; even in the midst of rural populace and Small & Medium Scale Enterprises which are main fulcrum of our economy.

She charged the students to maximise what they gain from the school and they should be a good ambassador of the institution.

The Commissioner assured them that the government would work assiduously to put necessary things in place for conducive teaching and learning before the proper resumption on the 10th October 2022 for the 2021/2022 academic session.

On the entourage with the Commissioner were, the Administrative Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs. Funmi Akinola, the Director of Commerce, Mr Awodogan and the Press Officer of the Ministry.
